Welcome! My novels, stories and - yes, even some poems - explore the life of the generation that came of age in the wake of the sixties. We late wave 'Boomers' are children of the Beats, inheritors of the counterculture, the ones who grew up embracing the spirit of Woodstock even as the 'summer of love' wilted around us in the aftermath of Altamont and the Manson family murders. My writings, like Kerouac's 'Dulouz legend' aspire to tell one big interconnected story with recurring characters negotiating a rapidly evolving cultural landscape from the 1970s forward into the new millennium. BIO
Glenn Fisher was born and raised in New Jersey. He served three years in the U.S. Navy before graduating from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY and embarking on a career at IBM. His travels have taken him to Africa, China, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Europe, the Caribbean and most of the United States. A fan of Jack Kerouac's "On the Road," Ernest Hemingway's "The Sun also Rises" and James Michener's “The Drifters” the author similarly explores themes common to people everywhere who seek a new start, a lasting love and friends to help them navigate the world they live in. Glenn and his wife live near Frederick, Maryland. They have three children and three grandchildren. Glenn runs, plays in a band and loves to travel and read.
